Festival of Libraries
Contribution - Camera Operator
I was hired by a production company to film at The Festival of Libraries during a talk at Manchester Poetry Library featuring Jordan Stephens, best known as one half of Rizzle Kicks, who spoke about his book Avoidance, Drugs, Heartbreak and Dogs. To give the editor flexibility in post-production, I shot the event using three cameras, capturing a range of angles to cover Jordan and the flow of the session.
As with many live events, the setup required some on-the-spot problem solving, with no stage and limited access to certain positions in the room, I focused on making the most of the available space to secure strong close-ups and reliable coverage. I also filmed supporting b-roll of the library to establish context, along with moments of Jordan signing copies of his book to round off the story.
